REMASTERING BY BERNIE GRUNDMAN FROM THE ORIGINAL QUARTER INCH STEREO TAPE
Jacintha's first album release since 2007 features a fabulous lineup of James Taylor-related songs, including “You've Got a Friend,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Walking Man,” “Fire & Rain,” “Shower the People” and several other universally known songs. The first album of famous songs created by Jacintha constitutes a clear change of direction in the discography of the Singaporean singer, who has always been adored by audiophiles all over the world. Many of the best musicians in Los Angeles who had the opportunity to collaborate in James Taylor's long and luminous career took part in the making of this album, including bassist Lee Sklar, drummer Russ Kunkel, keyboardist Jim Cox and acoustic guitarist Dean Parks, the last two great protagonists of a recent and very successful JT tour. All the songs were arranged by Tim Pierce (who came to prominence with Vanessa's albums Use Me and When the Levee Breaks), who also plays acoustic guitar on some songs. This disc was recorded with strictly analog technology at Henson Studios in Hollywood, once known as A&M and where many Charlie Chaplin films were shot. In 1999 A&M Records was acquired by Universal and later the studios – including all facilities and recording rooms – were taken over by the Jim Henson Company. Formed in 2000, Henson Recording Studios continues the tradition of technical excellence that has distinguished A&M for many years. This album was recorded on two-inch multitrack analog tape at 30 ips and mixed on quarter-inch tape also at 30 ips. Tracking and mixing were done at Sunset Sound by engineer and co-producer Michael C. Ross. The record was then mastered and cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering by the legendary Bernie Grundman himself, who used the original quarter-inch master at 30 ips and his entirely analog cutting system.
