Svartisen born 14 years ago during a tour in Norway by Maurizio Brunod.
Inspired by the suggestive Nordic atmospheres and by the collaboration with the local musicians met at the Smelte Digelen Jazz Festival, the guitarist decides to give life to this project composed with original songs and some written for the occasion, all played with classical and electric guitar.
The album boasts the participation of Bjorn Terhaug (bass), Ivan Antonsen (piano), Paolo Vinaccia (percussions) and the presence as Special Guest of John Surman (saxophone), great Jazz musician as well as one of the leading names of the ECM record company .
The artist had the privilege of recording this album at the legendary Rainbow Studio in Oslo with the equally legendary jan Erik Kongshaug, one of the greatest sound engineers and creator of ECM sound.
This record marked a real turning point in Brunod's career, who from that moment began important collaborations with artists of the caliber of Enrico Rava, further strengthening his presence in the world Jazz scene.
At the time this work was only produced on CD and today, after so many years, it is finally available on 180 gr vinyl with a nice analogue remastering by Walter Bertolo of Digital Sound.
