In 1967, as the Beatles' "All You Need Is Love" reached the UK Top 10, Tannoy launched the legendary III LZ (Monitor Red) featuring a 10" Dual Concentric transducer specifically designed for small cabinets. This speaker delivered the warmth and clarity of its larger 12" and 15" counterparts.

The STIRLING III LZ Special Edition is more than just a tribute to the 1967 III LZ; it represents an evolution that offers a wide frequency response and deep bass extension, ensuring natural sound imaging even at high sound pressure levels. Resulting from decades of acoustic excellence, every sonic detail is delivered with newfound clarity and depth.

Every design element essential to the breathtaking dynamic range, sound clarity, and classic appearance of the STIRLING III LZ has been faithfully preserved. This new version benefits significantly from advancements in driver and electronic component technology. Staying true to Tannoy's tradition of excellence, each STIRLING III LZ speaker cabinet is meticulously handcrafted by a team of highly skilled artisans.

Featuring the patented Dual Concentric design, introduced in 1947 and continuously refined, the STIRLING III LZ offers exceptional coherence and point-source imaging, delivering a natural and realistic sound.

At the heart of the Tannoy STIRLING III LZ Special Edition is the Gold Reference Dual Concentric coaxial speaker. It pairs a 2-inch tweeter with an aluminum-magnesium diaphragm and PepperPot waveguide with a 10-inch woofer featuring a pulp cone and dual-rolled fabric impregnated suspension. The AlNiCo magnetic motor ensures extraordinary sonic precision and high transient response.

The sophisticated, adjustable crossover, assembled with high-end components, includes proprietary capacitors, low-loss laminated core inductors, and high-precision thick-film resistors, ensuring seamless integration across frequency ranges. A precision-machined CNC anodized gold aluminum control panel on the front allows adjustment of the high-frequency level (+3 dB to -3 dB in five steps) and roll-off (+2 dB to -6 dB).

The cabinet is exceptionally rigid and inert, reinforced and dampened internally with Tannoy's proprietary DMT (Differential Material Technology), designed to eliminate standing waves and unwanted reflections. A distributed port reflex system along the sides of the front panel enhances powerful and controlled bass reproduction. Lastly, dual sets of connectors enable optimal bi-amping and bi-wiring, with an additional grounding terminal for impeccable connections.
