DUAL CS 418

The CS 418 is a classic-looking manual turntable with integrated phono stage, belt drive, straight aluminium tonearm, and Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.

A truly plug & play turntable that gives even the less experienced the chance to start enjoying the taste of vinyl, a nice cheap turntable to start with, but also a great base to build something much better.

The plinth of the CS 418 is made of MDF and covered with a black vinyl veneer, with elastomer anti-vibration feet at the base to ensure that vibrations are cancelled out.

The platter is made of die-cast aluminium with a thick rubber anti-vibration mat and the whole thing sits on a hardened steel coil in a brass sleeve and is driven via a rubber belt by a low vibration DC motor.

The simple aluminum arm, however, has been equipped with a gimbal with ball bearings and adjustable and anti-skating pressure, the pressure is adjusted with a counterweight applied to the arm from behind and thanks to a convenient ring with scale, the operation is quite simple.

The CS 418 can be said to be an exceptional product for the price proposed by Dual, a turntable that is excellent as a starting point but that can also be considered a point of arrival for many, beautiful, good sounding and simple to use, it travels quickly to become the new reference in its price range.
