This compact, sturdy reel-to-reel tape recorder offers high-fidelity performance, making it an ideal choice for analog sound enthusiasts. This stereophonic model is equipped with three heads, allowing real-time monitoring of the recording and the ability to listen to both stereo and monophonic tracks (1-4 or 3-2), simplifying the playback of recordings made with different equipment.
The head block is protected by a removable plastic and aluminum cover, providing easy access to the internal components. The GX heads, encapsulated in glass, ensure a significantly longer lifespan compared to traditional heads, making this recorder a safe and reliable investment over time.
This model does not feature auto-reverse and uses a single pinch roller, meaning you must manually flip the reels at the end of the tape. The tape counter is a classic mechanical four-digit counter, and two equalizations and two bias levels can be selected for greater versatility in recording.
The recorder supports two speeds for playback and recording: 19 cm/s and 9.5 cm/s. Speed adjustment is not done via a selector but by manually reducing the diameter of the capstan, which consists of two co-axial pins. The declared specifications guarantee a frequency response of 30-24,000 Hz at the higher speed and 30-16,000 Hz at the lower speed.
In terms of connections, the device offers two microphone inputs with front jacks, RCA connections, and a DIN connector, which integrates stereo inputs and outputs into a single cable. There is also a stereo headphone output.
Thanks to its solid construction, with a metal frame and levers, this tape recorder offers long-term durability. The belts are easily available, and the build quality ensures reliable operation even after years of use. A true classic among reel-to-reel tape recorders, perfect for those seeking authentic sound and a device built to last.
