To celebrate his thirty-year career, guitarist Maurizio Brunod creates a special
project in which he reinterprets some of his compositions for the first time,
throughout his repertoire.
With a career marked by partnerships with international jazz stars (to name a
few: E. Rava, M. Vitous, J. Girotto, J. Surman, A. Balanescu, T. Berne), for this
new group he chooses two young jazz talents of the Turin area, the pianist
Emanuele Sartoris and the double-bass player Marco Bellafiore. The work with
Sartoris and Bellafiore is aimed at a chamber sound and at the same time a
psychedelic identity, in order to give a different aesthetic to Brunod
compositions.
The record will come out in march 2020 for Caligola Records, with the
partecipation of two guests: Daniele Di Bonaventura and Gianluigi Trovesi,
musicians with whom Maurizio collaborated in his career and which can also be
invited to play in the trio concerts, to create a real "artistic residence" on
Brunod's compositions.
