Designed at JBL's renowned acoustic engineering facility in Northridge, California, the HDI-1200P forms the foundation of a complete surround system in the HDI series. This powered subwoofer features a 12-inch (300 mm) Poly-plas™ cone woofer driven by a 1,000-watt amplifier, delivering powerful dynamics and incredibly accurate sound reproduction. The HDI-1200P's cabinet is heavily reinforced to provide a solid acoustic base and incorporates a bass-reflex design with dual down-firing flared ports optimized for performance.

The subwoofer's driver utilizes JBL's transducer DNA from HDI woofers, ensuring maximum power with significantly reduced distortion. This powerful 12-inch (300 mm) driver features a cast aluminum frame supporting a large ceramic Symmetrical Field motor design with a vented pole and flared exits. A long-throw 3-inch voice coil drives the high-density Poly-plas™ cone. The entire assembly has been optimized using Klippel and FEA to achieve maximum performance from the system. Combined with the 1,000-watt amplifier and the bass-reflex tuned enclosure, the HDI-1200P digs deep into low frequencies, adding solid foundations and visceral realism to movies and modern music.
