2-Way Floorstanding Speaker from the Prestige Line.

The new 15-inch Gold Reference driver is the most powerful and detailed model in Tannoy's Dual series, with a peak power handling of 600 watts and an efficiency of over 96 dB in the 235-liter Canterbury GR cabinet. This 15-inch driver has been enhanced with technology from Tannoy’s flagship Kingdom Royal project. The low-frequency section features a fiber-enhanced paper pulp cone, improving the mechanical properties of the cone. The cone is finished with a double-wave fabric suspension to optimize damping. The high-frequency driver in the Canterbury GR is equipped with an aluminum/magnesium alloy diaphragm, thermally treated to improve its mechanical integrity under high-frequency loads. The use of new Mylar materials further enhances damping and motor cooling, ensuring exceptional clarity and articulation in the high frequencies.

The Canterbury GR is a 2-way floorstanding speaker from the Prestige line, characterized by cabinet and component construction using DMT (Dual Magnet Technology). It features a Dual Concentric speaker with a 38 cm cellulose pulp woofer, Alcomax3 magnet, and double-wave fabric suspension. At the center of the woofer is a 52 mm aluminum/magnesium alloy tweeter with a Tulip waveguide. The cabinet is designed with an adjustable distributed port and a variable crossover, with bi-amplification capabilities. This speaker offers an efficiency of 96 dB, an impedance of 8 Ohms, and a power handling range from 50 to 275 W RMS.

The improvements introduced with the Gold Reference series go beyond just driver technology. The variable distributed port system optimizes low-frequency output based on room size. Additionally, the treble adjustment allows for further customization of the listening experience, adapting to different preferences and acoustic environments. The design, which integrates wood and metal with high-quality finishes, maintains the distinctive look of the Prestige line, with particular attention to both aesthetics and functionality.
