The Revel Gem is an elegant, slim-profile stand-mounted speaker designed to deliver exceptional sound quality. Its 2.5-way configuration features a vertical array with two midwoofers flanking a centrally positioned 28mm tweeter, a high-performance soft-dome unit crafted by renowned Danish manufacturer ScanSpeak.

The 5.25-inch woofers, designed by Revel, boast a one-piece concave titanium dome with fluoroelastomer rubber surrounds to minimize distortion. The integration of neodymium magnets and a 2-inch edge-wound voice coil with a Faraday ring helps reduce magnetic interference and enhance low-frequency accuracy.

The bass reflex system utilizes a 2-inch flared port that extends 6 inches deep on the rear panel, optimizing low-frequency performance by managing standing waves effectively. Additionally, as with many of Kevin Voecks' designs for Snell Acoustics, the rear-facing tweeter equalizes power response above 8 kHz, compensating for the increased directivity of the front tweeter at higher frequencies.

The crossover network is engineered with premium components, including polypropylene dielectric capacitors, and is internally wired with Kimber cables to ensure maximum signal purity. The crossover frequency is set just above 2 kHz, and the woofer and tweeter circuits are physically separated, allowing for independent connections via dual sets of binding posts.

For enhanced customization, the speaker features adjustment switches that let users fine-tune the levels of both tweeters independently, adapting the speaker's response to the listening environment and personal preferences.

The cabinet is crafted from high-density MDF, with aluminum side panels that attach to the main structure with slight extensions at the top and bottom to support the front grille.

To further refine performance, Revel employed advanced laser interferometry in designing both the cabinet and woofers, significantly reducing resonances and ensuring pistonic motion accuracy up to an octave above the crossover frequency.

The dedicated 28.5-inch stand, designed specifically for the Gem, enhances stability and reduces unwanted vibrations. It features a pre-filled central pillar with sand, contributing to improved structural integrity and sonic clarity.

Thanks to full magnetic shielding on all drivers, the Revel Gem is equally suited for high-fidelity music listening and home theater integration. Its sound quality and precision have been refined through rigorous listening tests and objective measurements, developed by Harman International's engineers, who are pioneers in correlating technical data with real auditory perception.
