The Thorens TD 3001 represents the natural evolution of the concept that had already brought the TD 2001 model to the highest recognition in the world of high fidelity. Designed to meet the needs of the most demanding audiophiles, the TD 3001 deliberately forgoes the automatic shut-off function, prioritizing the purity of the listening experience over convenience.

Unlike more affordable models with cast platters, the TD 3001 features a precision-machined solid platter, ensuring greater mass and enhanced rotational stability. The chassis is solid and enclosed, featuring gold-plated connectors—often sacrificed in other Thorens turntables but here emphasizing the commitment to build quality.

The TP 90 SF tonearm, a modified version of the classic TP 90, includes a lift system controlled by a lever positioned directly at the base. To minimize resonance and improve structural rigidity, the headshell is integrated as a single piece with the tonearm tube, with an effective mass of 14g, optimizing compatibility with various cartridges.

Thanks to its interchangeable armboard, the TD 3001 is highly versatile and can be equipped with a wide range of tonearms, such as the renowned SME 3009, allowing for maximum system customization.

The E2 cartridge stands out for its ideal balance between advanced performance and accessibility. It retains the spherical stylus profile of the E1 but features an upgraded aluminum cantilever for improved precision.

Magnetic Duplex™ Technology utilizes a dual-magnet system designed to replicate the geometry of the original cutting head. This allows for more accurate reproduction of stereo information engraved in the vinyl groove, enhancing channel separation and delivering a wider, more immersive, and musical soundstage.
