THORENS TD 1601

Semi-automatic floating suspended frame turntable with belt drive, a technologically perfected reimagining of the iconic Thorens TD 160 and TD 150 models.

The Thorens TD 1601 combines everything the TD 1600 offers, with additional features to enhance comfort and connectivity with amplifiers. The classic wooden plinth, two-part platter with internal belt and thick rubber mat, powerful motor control unit, arm board, and acrylic dust cover are complemented by balanced outputs and functions that make it easier to handle.

The conical springs for the sub-chassis are no longer mounted on the top but rest on the base. Additionally, a thin yet strong steel thread connects the sub-chassis to a steel pin at the bottom, preventing the sub-chassis from shifting laterally and allowing only vertical movement.

An electrical lift and contactless auto shut-off feature are also included. XLR connectors provide a direct balanced connection to amplifiers.
