The Rega Planar 3 RS Edition (Rega Special) is presented as an advanced turntable, featuring an incredibly rigid base constructed with a brand-new HPL laminate coated in aluminum, providing superior rigidity compared to previous models. This plinth is finished with a dark brushed effect that leans toward a glossy black, creating an elegant aesthetic that perfectly complements the sophisticated technology of the turntable. The structure is even more solid thanks to the inclusion of a double brace system, with 3 mm thick phenolic reinforcements between the tonearm mounting and the main bearing, preventing energy absorption and unwanted resonance, ensuring a distortion-free musical reproduction.

The RS Edition is equipped with a Neo MK2 power supply, offering precise speed control and advanced vibration protection, thanks to a dedicated circuit designed to minimize motor noise. The low-vibration, low-noise 24V motor is manually tuned to each individual motor, ensuring absolute speed accuracy, while the transmission is achieved via a high-quality Reference EBLT drive belt, which ensures maximum precision.

The legendary hand-assembled RB330 tonearm, designed using advanced CAD technology, is mounted with the new Nd5 moving magnet cartridge, which has received numerous accolades for its superior performance. The Nd5 cartridge is built with an elliptical nude diamond stylus profile made from polycrystalline man-made diamond, with optimized geometry to improve symmetry and ensure accurate channel balance. The miniaturized parallel coil technology and the use of 38-micron wire contribute to superior frequency response, providing a significantly wider soundstage compared to previous models.

Completing the elegant design and performance of the Planar 3 RS Edition is a 12 mm opti-white polished glass platter, ensuring stable and precise rotation of the record, and a smoked dust cover that perfectly integrates with the brushed aluminum plinth.
