Turntable

The New Horizon 201 is a belt-driven turntable featuring a Pro-Ject 8.6" carbon tonearm. The entire chassis is crafted in Italy, offering an excellent value for its quality. It comes with a dust cover and is available with two different cartridge models and in two finishes.

The 201 model represents the evolution of the well-regarded 101, enhanced with premium materials and superior mechanical and electronic components. The 20 mm thick acrylic platter, weighing nearly 2 kg, increases rotational inertia, enhancing the stability and fluidity of musical playback. The carbon tonearm, with its high rigidity, ensures precise and detailed sound reproduction.

Attention to detail sets the New Horizon 201 apart. Adjustable three-piece feet with EPDM damping material, Teflon washers, brass nuts for cartridge mounting, and a scratch-resistant, smudge-proof satin lacquer finish in white or black highlight the dedication to quality craftsmanship. Technical Details

Plinth HD
The 201 uses a rigid plinth made from MDF HD, a material composed of compressed wood pulp and synthetic resins. This construction provides stability and minimizes the transmission of vibrations and resonances, offering superior performance compared to solid wood.

AC Synchronous Motor
At the heart of the system is a 24VAC synchronous motor, ensuring stable and consistent rotation, unaffected by fluctuations in power supply voltage. Its high torque and 500 RPM speed contribute significantly to the platter's smooth and steady rotation.

Mechanical Suspension
The motor, as the primary source of vibrations, is isolated from the rest of the turntable through a mechanical suspension system using precision steel springs, effectively preventing the transmission of oscillations to the plinth.

Belt Drive
The platter's motion is transmitted via a silicone belt, chosen for its excellent energy transfer and effective decoupling from motor-induced vibrations.

Inverted Bearing
The platter's rotation system employs an inverted bearing made of aluminum and steel, designed to ensure smooth, silent operation with minimal rotational friction.

Carbon Tonearm
The straight 8.6" carbon tonearm, lightweight and resistant to vibrations, allows for azimuth and anti-skating adjustments. It includes two counterweights, accommodating a wide range of MM and MC cartridges.

Acrylic Platter
Laser-cut and precision-turned acrylic crystal platters combine excellent vibration energy dissipation with elegant transparency.

RCA Output Terminals
The turntable features gold-plated RCA output terminals and a separate ground connector, mounted on an insulating plate for optimal interfacing with audio equipment.

Dust Cover
A high-quality acrylic crystal dust cover, heat-bent for durability, protects the mechanical components, giving the 201 a refined look and robust protection.
