The Young MkIV is a high-end digital-to-analog converter designed to transform digital signals from any source into a lively, natural, and engaging analog sound, ready for amplification and listening. More than just a DAC, it features an integrated preamplifier section with a precision resistor-ladder volume control and gain buffer stages, making it capable of directly driving a power amplifier or active speakers. This is further enhanced by the presence of an analog input.

Equipped with a wide range of digital inputs, including USB 2.0 and an I2S port in PS Audio format, it can connect seamlessly to computers, smartphones, CD/DVD players, or digital streamers. The analog input allows the connection of traditional sources like a phono preamp, radio, or tape deck. Its analog outputs—available in both single-ended and balanced modes—offer excellent integration with any amplifier, and the unit’s high output voltage (up to 5Vrms single-ended and 10Vrms balanced) ensures compatibility even with low-sensitivity equipment.

Control is accessible from the front panel, via the included infrared remote control, or from an Android smartphone app using the same wireless connection that also enables high-quality audio streaming. The carefully designed headphone section features a class-AB linear amplifier to deliver a premium headphone listening experience. Independent volume control for each output ensures precise adjustments for any listening setup.

Built with meticulous attention to sound quality, the Young MkIV employs high-grade components such as film capacitors, anti-inductive resistors, and low-noise audio op-amps. Its clock section is powered by an ultra-low-noise dedicated regulator and uses low phase-noise quartz oscillators to ensure accurate conversion. The USB interface is galvanically isolated from the computer’s USB bus and is powered internally, effectively eliminating interference and preserving signal integrity.

It supports PCM formats from 44.1kHz up to 768kHz with resolutions from 16 to 32 bits, native DSD up to 512x, and DoP up to 256x. MQA decoding is available on all wired inputs. A Bluetooth receiver with aptX support rounds out the connectivity, offering the perfect blend of modern convenience and top-tier audio fidelity. The Young MkIV is a refined and complete device, improved over its predecessors, engineered to reveal the full depth and natural character of music, regardless of the source.
