Unlike traditional CD players, which use a front-loading mechanism, this high-quality CD player features top-loading. A solid aluminum sliding tray retracts into the chassis, revealing the premium Sanyo drive mechanism. A puck ensures the CD is securely held in place.
The HD-23 boasts standout technical features, including a Phillips servo control system, the top-tier Burr-Brown PCM-1794 DAC, and upsampling to 192kHz/24 bit. It also offers XLR outputs and dual transformers for analog and digital sections, eliminating interference. An LC filter further reduces noise from the 230V power supply.
This player features both a conventional output and a tube output, along with a coaxial digital output. All connectors are gold-plated.
The chassis and remote control are crafted from high-quality solid aluminum, providing a premium and sturdy feel.
