The NCF features a special crystalline material that has two "active" properties. First, it generates negative ions that eliminate static electricity. Furutech Floating Field Damper System
Current flowing through a cable and its connector generates magnetic (and electrostatic) fields around them, building and collapsing 60 times per second in 120V AC systems. This magnetic field induces current flow—electrical potential—in small parts, such as the screws that hold the connector shell together, which must be metallic for a tight clamp. The current flow in these small parts actually creates "floating" magnetic fields around them, and these interfere with the larger surrounding magnetic field of the cable and connector, causing noise and distortion. The Furutech Floating Field Damper solves this issue by grounding the metal parts where floating magnetic fields are induced by current flow. All the various metal parts of the connector are tied together and shunt any electrical potentials generated to ground. This significantly reduces noise and distortion, enabling ultra-clean and stable power transfer.
