Preamplifier with integrated phono stage
A rare preamplifier with an integrated phono stage, produced in the early '80s by Spectral Audio Co. This model was the company’s first commercial product and was designed by Demian Martin, one of the most renowned audio circuit designers. It pairs perfectly with the DMA-50 power amplifier.
The front circuit of the DMC-5 uses a low-noise J-FET differential, followed by PNP and NPN differential gain stages. The final stage is built with FETs for both phono and line stages.
The phono stage of the DMC-5 is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges. The phono input impedance is selectable via a dip switch array inside the preamplifier, with options ranging from 10 ohms, 100 ohms, 800 ohms to 47KOhms. The line stage is also of high quality, delivering excellent performance.
This preamplifier represents a rare opportunity for those seeking a high-end, reliable, and durable product.
