The Bellini preamplifier embodies the ideal that led to the creation of the "Great Composers" line: to offer very high quality at an affordable price. After having become a "best buy" in the markets throughout the world, now it renews its success with the new "remote" version. The Bellini was made on the basis of concepts that usually belong to higher class and cost equipments.
The power supply is splitted to the two channels since from the transformer’s outputs. The input selection is performed via relays very close to the input sockets to reduce the signal path. Differently from many other products of the same price range, the Bellini features a sophisticated FET input preamplifying circuit to treat the delicate input signals at their best, as well as a separate tape bar with tape output buffer, to optimize the tape interface. The Bellini’s "pre" output allows for biamping thanks to two pairs of RCA connectors in parallel fashion and to a noticeable current capability. While many designs avoid featuring phono inputs, Audio Analogue has given the Bellini a sophisticated RIAA preamp able to treat both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. The new totally dicrete line circuit offers all is needed to achieve a great sound: low feedback and wide open-loop bandwidth, high current delivery, low noise and high quality components, starting from the gold plated input RCAs, to the gold plated silver body relays, up to the highest speed supply capacitors.
An advanced microcontroller-based system manages all the preamp’s features (source and record selections, muting, volume control), also thanks to the new remote with elegant and massive brass enclosure and the motor-operated high quality volume potentiometer. The automatic mute activation on switching on avoids dangerous bumps when the power amps are turned on before the Bellini.
The advanced double layer fiberglass printed circuit board allows to reduce the wiring paths, actually only the ones needed to connect the supply transformer to the board, that would represent dangerous paths for disturbing signals and noises if not performed by PCB tracks. The remote and microcontroller management features haven’t changed the Bellini’s elegant appearance, which shows a nice black or silver satin aluminum-alloy faceplate with rounded machined aluminum knobs.
