The KT-88 output tubes used in the MQ-88uC, produced by JJ Electronic, are known for their power and rich sound quality. The triode configuration employed ensures long tube life and a highly transparent timbre, a hallmark of vacuum tube amplifiers. The parallel first stage feeds a driver stage with proven Mullard circuitry. For the final stage, a Mullard-compatible push-pull configuration has been adopted, providing an output power of 25 watts per channel at 4, 8, and 16 ohms, with very low distortion.

The MQ-88uC is equipped with independent 4, 8, and 16-ohm speaker terminals, allowing for better adaptation and optimal performance with any type of speaker, enabling powerful music reproduction with minimal distortion. The unit features a variable input mode (with adjustable volume), which allows the input section to be bypassed, connecting a source device, such as a CD player, directly to the output section.

Luxman's classic amplifiers feature OY15 type output transformers with die-cast aluminum housings, now redesigned and reproduced with the original shape. The power supply section is equipped with a highly stable El type power transformer, combined with custom-designed blocking capacitors, ensuring consistent sound quality and excellent drivability.

The main chassis of the MQ-88uC has a dark brown finish, which differs from the black finish of the MQ-88u. This finish better complements Luxman products with wooden exterior cases. The hairline-finished aluminum top panel and the matte black die-cast aluminum power transformer housings create a harmonious combination, where quality and beauty are essential elements of the design.
