MCINTOSH MA 352

The MA352 Integrated Amplifier has a hybrid design that combines the best principles of vacuum tube and solid-state audio. The result is an eye-catching amplifier that takes advantage of these two opposing audio philosophies while delivering music reproduction at the highest quality level.

The MA352 includes Hybrid Drive™ technology, which uses the best of both vacuum tubes and solid-state to provide the best sound performance. With a fully analog design, the MA352 features a vacuum tube preamplifier section powered by a pair of 12AX7A tubes and a pair of 12AT7 tubes; its output stage is a direct-coupled solid-state amplifier that delivers 200 watts per channel into 8-ohm speakers or 320 watts per channel into 4-ohm speakers, enough power to properly drive virtually any set of loudspeakers. Dual scale blue watt meters provide an accurate readout of the output power for both speaker impedances.

The MA352 offers 2 balanced inputs, 3 unbalanced inputs, and 1 Moving Magnet phono input with adjustable loading for connecting a turntable. It has gold-plated speaker binding posts to help prevent corrosion and ensure that a high-quality signal is sent over the speaker cables to your speakers. A stereo preamplifier output is available for connecting a more powerful amplifier; it can also be used to connect 1 or 2 powered subwoofers to enhance low-frequency performance.

The MA352 is equipped with numerous McIntosh technologies, including:

• Patented Power Guard® technology that monitors the output signal to prevent over-driving and makes real-time micro adjustments to the input signal to avoid harsh clipping that could damage the speakers.

• McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks™ connected to advanced high-current output transistors that reduce thermal equilibrium lag (or warm-up time).
• A High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®).
• A 5-band analog tone control that allows manual adjustment of your favorite recordings (each band adjustable by ±12dB).
• Home Theater Pass Through to seamlessly integrate it into a home theater system.
