Pegaso is a young brand born in 2017 but backed by decades of experience.
AF Group SRL, the dynamic company that owns and produces the prestigious Audio Analogue brand, decided to leverage its expertise in designing, manufacturing, and marketing solid-state electronics to embark on a new chapter in its history. With the collaboration of specialists in valve-based electronics design, the company has taken on a challenging new venture, aiming to create reference-grade electronics using a different technology than previously employed.

The warm and immersive sound of valves, combined with the highly technological and sophisticated design philosophy typical of solid-state electronics, gives rise to Pegaso, a perfect blend of tradition and progress.

But why "Pegaso"? This mythical creature, whose origins date back to ancient times, is the symbol of Tuscany, the homeland of our electronics, where they are conceived, designed, and crafted. The symbolic meaning of Pegaso lies in its ability to unite the vitality and strength of a horse with the power of flight, thus overcoming the constraints of gravity. Metaphorically, this represents what we aim to achieve with our electronics: a sound that is full of character—precise and dynamic yet rich in nuances, "light," and pleasant to the ear.

The first creation is the P50A, a 50W Class A amplifier with a push-pull configuration and a fully balanced circuit. The circuit design is straightforward, featuring a preamplification stage limited to input selection and volume control, while the actual amplification stage uses four 6922 valves and four KT90 valves. The components are meticulously selected to ensure both reliability (long-life, high-temperature components guarantee long-term durability) and superior sound performance, with audiophile-grade parts used in key areas.

A microcontroller with dedicated software manages all control functions. Four different volume scales can be selected, allowing precise matching of gain to speaker sensitivity, and one input can function as a power amplifier input (bypassing the preamp stage). This flexibility enables continued use of the P50A for the main stereo channels, even within a home theater system. The P50A is available in silver or black finishes and comes with a machined aluminum remote control.
