Pair of bookshelf speakers
The Strandberg Audio C10 are standmount loudspeakers designed to offer a timeless design and a music listening experience free from technical distractions.
Strandberg Audio's goal with the C10 was to create a standmount loudspeaker with a combination of timeless visual design and the ability to let you hear only the music and not the technical solutions involved.
Where others flaunt their technical solutions, Strandberg Audio tries to hide them with their sole role of recreating the music recorded from the source. We must not forget that the purpose of a loudspeaker is to recall an original sound event, bringing it to life and providing the same emotions we feel when listening to a large orchestra, a string quartet, a rock band, a jazz trio or simply a voice with a piano.
Key Features:
Cabinet: Made of high-density MDF with thicknesses of 21 mm, it is equipped with internal bracing and damping panels to minimize resonances. The use of natural wool for internal sound absorption ensures a more natural sound.
Crossover: A hand-wired 2-way system, using high-quality Mundorf capacitors and air coils, ensures a smooth transition between the drivers and a consistent frequency response.
Driver: The 178 mm mid-woofer with fibre cone and the 25 mm soft dome tweeter deliver detailed and dynamic sound reproduction, with an extended frequency response beyond 30 kHz.
Cabinet:
The cabinet is tuned to achieve a natural roll-off without any ringing in the step response. The cabinets are made of thick MDF with internal Q-pad dampers to minimize cabinet material resonances. The cabinet is heavily braced for rigidity, and the damping pads make it non-resonant, so it does not store sound in the time domain. Natural wool is used for internal acoustic damping, loosely packed to prevent the damping material from storing sound.
Crossover:
The two-way crossover is wired with high-quality Mundorf capacitors and baked air coils to avoid any internal component and filter resonances. The secret of the crossover design is to make the drivers work together without pushing any driver beyond its comfort zone. Therefore, the cone area is considered alongside the driver material behavior. The result is a seamless transition between the mid-woofer and tweeter above the crossover point and throughout the entire frequency range.
Drivers:
The mid-woofer and tweeter have been specifically selected and custom developed with renowned manufacturers Seas and Scan-Speak to offer the latest in driver technology.
The Reed paper cone mid/bass driver, with a built-in copper ring in the magnet system, offers symmetric drive and higher dynamics in the midrange, simultaneously suppressing intermodulation distortion, resulting in exceptional voice handling and micro/macro dynamics that are rare in a compact 2-way speaker design.
The 25mm wide surround tweeter offers superb vocal presentation and excellent imaging in a wide listening area. Its large roll surround, built-in copper ring, and textile dome diaphragm provide a flat frequency response above 30kHz with outstanding off-axis dispersion. A large rear acoustic chamber reduces compression and lowers the tweeter’s system resonance well below the crossover point.
