Qln One V6 is an high-end audio speaker, designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original model from 1981. It is made with a characteristic truncated pyramid shape, designed to reduce internal resonances and improve the three-dimensional sound image. This model stands out for the use of advanced materials such as Qboard®, which minimizes vibrations and temporal distortions, and for an optimized reflex system to reduce air turbulence.

From a technical point of view, it is a two-way speaker with a 25 mm soft dome tweeter and a 176 mm Reed paper woofer, developed in collaboration with Scandinavian manufacturers. These drivers offer excellent vocal reproduction and extraordinary dynamics, with a sensitivity of 87.5 dB and a frequency response that reaches 45 Hz at -3 dB. The crossover uses advanced technologies for a constant impedance response, ensuring a uniform load on the amplifier, also ideal for tube amplifiers.

A slanted front baffle provides perfect time alignment between the woofer and tweeter. The truncated pyramid cabinet, with its minimized baffle area, suppresses standing waves inside the cabinet while offering improved three-dimensional imaging.

By building the cabinet around Qln's unique Qboard® technology, structural resonances are significantly minimized. The bass reflex port with its trumpet shape eliminates air turbulence.

The cabinet is heavily braced for stiffness, but damping pads are used to reduce internal resonances that distort sound in the time domain. Natural wool is used to further dampen the internal acoustic chamber. We use minimal damping material and apply it strategically.

The same constant impedance crossover technology found in the Prestige series is used, with fine-tuning for the compact two-way design. All coils are air-core, and all capacitors are made of polypropylene material. All coils are baked to glue the wires together and reduce internal vibration.

The constant impedance crossover produces an even impedance response that eases the load the amplifier must handle (especially tube amps), providing better phase coherence for the driver. The crossover is hard-wired for optimal contact between components with as few contact points as possible. Every component is softly glued to increase damping and minimize vibrations.

The drivers have been specifically selected and custom-developed in collaboration with Scandinavian manufacturers to offer the latest in driver technology. The Reed paper cone mid/bass driver, with a built-in copper ring in the magnet system and a titanium voice coil, offers symmetric drive and superior dynamics in the midrange while simultaneously suppressing intermodulation distortion. This results in spectacular voice reproduction and astonishing micro/macro dynamics uncommon for a compact two-way speaker design.

The 25mm wide surround tweeter offers excellent vocal presentation and quality imaging in a wide listening area. Its large roll surround, built-in copper ring, and textile dome diaphragm provide a flat frequency response above 30 kHz with exceptional off-axis dispersion. The rear acoustic chamber reduces compression and lowers the tweeter’s system resonance well below the crossover point.
