This unmissable double LP includes a series of songs recorded in the second part of a recording session carried out on 20 June 1968 by HansGeorg Brunner-Schwer (HGBS) and Joachim-Ernst Brendt in their studio in the Black Forest. Let's point out straight away that this is not a record like all the others. This electrifying recording session took place five days after the memorable concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival which featured legendary pianist Bill Evans, double bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Jack DeJohnette. The album recorded live in Montreux by Verve won a Grammy Award, while this studio album was already forgotten then, only to be rediscovered now.
This album was remastered for the first time with all-analog (AAA) technology from the original analog tape by René Laflamme in the 2xHD Mastering Lab and cut to 45 rpm by Bernie Grundman.
The Fusion Mastering System developed by 2xHD represents an important innovation in the field of restoration of audio recordings and is able to guarantee a sound image of astonishing realism. Constantly committed to improving this mastering process for which it holds the exclusivity, 2xHD has recently reached a new phase, called 2xHD Fusion, which integrates the most advanced Nagra analog tape recorders modified with an all-tube playback technology and equipped with cables OCC silver, which allows you to obtain incredible sound transparency and an extraordinary three-dimensional image. 2xHD is unanimously considered one of the best audiophile labels in the world both for the choice of repertoire and artists and for the sound quality, an excellence which is confirmed by the countless international awards it has been awarded over the years. Whether it has to express the changing sonic nuances of a chamber ensemble or the engaging energy released by a jazz band, the innovative recording technology of which 2xHD holds the exclusive right always proves to be on the crest of the wave.
